Vesak Day is a traditional holiday for Buddhist countries and it is said to be the day when Buddha was enlightened after 40 years of meditation. The Buddhists celebrated the 2,600 years of enlightenment. It is the day that Buddha was born and a time of enlightenment and nirvana. Around 10,000 Buddhist monks prayed in Dhammakaya temple. White clothes are often worn on Vesak Day as the colour is considered one of purification.People light candles and walk clockwise three times around the main chapel to remember the day Buddha was born.Vesak Day is also celebrated in India, Singapore, Vietnam Cambodia, Malaysia, Burma and Laos.
