The US Armed Services Committee will table the defence authorisation bill in the Congress. The bill will invest more powers in the armed forces, combating against al Qaeda and Taliban. After passing of the bill, the forces can detain terrorists without prosecution.The allied countries, battling in Afghanistan, are opposing the troops withdrawal from Afghanistan in the wake of Osama bin Laden’s killing. The US humanitarian organisations are opposing this bill because it will give infinite powers to the US president.The Pentagon wanted to continue the war till the complete elimination of al Qaeda leadership.Deputy Commander of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan Lieutenant General James Jeffrey Corfield Bucknall said that the time was not appropriate to leave Afghanistan. He said that if allied forces left Afghanistan, Taliban would once again seize the country.
