Summary 191 Kashmiri youth joined various freedom movements, nearly 52 percent more than in 2017.

SRINAGAR (Web Desk) - The well-educated scholars are joining freedom movements in Kashmir in large number to fight against the increasing atrocities and human right violations of India.

According to Washington Post, Professor at University of Kashmir, Mohammad Rafi Bhat embraced martyrdom while fight against the Indian troops.

Bhat failed to attend a faculty meeting at the university. His family, too, had no idea where he was. Two days later, when his colleagues turned on their televisions, their concern turned to shock. He had joined a group and was martyred in a confrontation with Indian forces.

Another educated youth Eisa Fazili was also martyred in an encounter with Indian security forces in March 2018. Eisa went on to study engineering at a university in the city of Jammu. Then, one day during his final semester in 2017, he disappeared.

Last year, 191 Kashmiri youth joined various freedom movements, nearly 52 percent more than in 2017, when 126 joined.
