According to police, the bomber struck at the start of the Friday prayers in a mosque in the Cirebon city police headquarters, West Java province. The bomber was himself praying until the explosion.An eyewitness said that he saw the man praying in the third row and suddenly there was a blast. He said the bomber, who was wearing dark clothes, died immediately and the explosion injured several local police officers, including the Cirebon police chief, who were praying around him.Police said that they were still trying to identify the bomber and his motives.It was the first time that a suicide bomber had targeted people inside a mosque in Indonesia, the worlds most populous Muslim-majority country.
