The national bicycle exhibition has kick-started in Ludhiana city of Indias northern Punjab state to upgrade and promote the bicycle industry.Various manufacturers and dealers from all over the country as well as from abroad are participating in the exhibition, which will last for three days.“Dealers from very far-off places across the country have come here. People from south India, west, north and east India have come here. All the exhibitors who are present here will get a good business. On a single platform, all the big and small companies have displayed their products. All the new models, which are yet to be launched by the companies, are on display. This year cycle business will be benefited a lot by this exhibition,” said Omkar Singh Pahwa, manufacturer of a leading bicycle brand.“There are cycles with disc breaks, cycles with multi-speed gears and there are many different types of cycles which young generation or the growing children would like to ride. You will not see black cycle (old-fashioned cycles) here in the exhibition. All different models of cycle which are also known as new age cycles are displayed here and because of this only business is increasing,” he added.Ludhiana city is a hub for bicycle manufacturers. About 80 percent of the industry is dependent on the city for its stocks. The ongoing bicycle exhibition will continue till Tuesday (March 29).
