Summary General Nasser Ali Shuaybi and 60 army officers have joined the youth revolution
Another Yemeni general said on Monday that he and dozens of other officers have pledged their support for the opposition seeking to oust President Ali Abdullah Saleh.General Nasser Ali Shuaybi said that 60 army officers, including him, from Hadramawt province had joined the youth revolution, and that 50 interior ministry officers had done so as well.Shuaybis announcement came after one of Yemens most senior military officers, General Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, told reporters on Monday that he had joined the protest movement against Salehs regime.And dozens of Yemeni military officers on Monday publicly pledged their support for the protest movement demanding Salehs resignation in Sanaa.One by one, officers of various ranks announced their support for the protesters at the sit-in near Sanaa University, where demonstrators calling for Salehs fall have kept vigil since February 21 in spite of a wave of attacks.
