Summary Public shows massive support for constitutional amendments and early elections in referendum.
The Egyptian people showed massive support for constitutional amendments which has already paved the way for early elections in the country.According to the referendum, more than 77 percent of the people voted for a ban on anyone holding the office of the president for more than eight years. Majority of the people also supported early elections. On Sunday, the Egyptian rights organisations said that according to provisional figures, an average voter turnout of 80 to 88 percent was recorded at the referendum on constitutional amendments.
