Summary US has once again demanded for release of Raymond Davis and claims that he is a Consulate official.

White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney said in a press brieifing that Pakistani government received Raymond Davis as a diplomat in Pakistan and he is under diplomatic immunity, therefore must be released. He also stated that we believe that the principle that every country in the world that participates in the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations has a responsibility to honour the provisions of that treaty. And that is our starting point in dealing with this issue. Answering a question regarding Raymond working for CIA, he said that Raymond Davis was an employee of US Consulate and under Vienna Convention, he attains diplomatic immunity and must be released.
