Summary Fourteen couples were selected in a nationwide contest to get married on the top of Empire State Building on Valentine's Day.
There have been Valentines Day weddings on the famous skyscraper for the past 17 years. Red roses, cupids and chocolates are sold in large numbers on most of the stores of New York. Feb. 14 is the only day weddings are permitted at the landmark building.
