JAIPUR (Web Desk) - A man in Indian state of Jaipur was detained for allegedly hoisting a Pakistani flag atop the roof of his house on the occasion of Pakistan’s independence day, reported Press Trust of India.

The man has been identified as Kapil Shastri and is said to be mentally disturbed.

The man was detained and the flag was seized after the locals informed the police of the incident.

A case against Shastri was registered under section 153 A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, residence and 295 (insult the religion of any class) of IPC.

"Primary probe reveals that the accused is not mentally fit and said that he picked up the flag few years ago from a slum area and brought to his house.

"His grandfather was a freedom fighter," Anil Jaimini, SHO of the Mansarover police station said.

He was detained and released. A medical examination of the accused will be conducted tomorrow, he added.
