Summary
Texas police chased a carjacking suspect, crashing into the truck he was driving after he drove onto the tarmac at Dallas' Love Field. Throughout the chase, the driver wove through city streets, driving on three tires and the rim of one rear wheel. Police pursued the driver through the city, following him to the airport, where he crashed through an airport gate and drove onto an airport runway. Minutes after that, police boxed the driver in, and crashed into his vehicle, ending the chase. The driver was quickly surrounded by several police cars and taken into custody without further incident. Police said they were trying to make a felony traffic stop when the driver refused to pull over. Officials said the driver was being pursued because the vehicle was reportedly stolen in a car-jacking. All air traffic at Love Field was placed on hold during the final moments of the chase.
