Karachi traffic police have issued the city’s second-highest e-challan of Rs50,000 to a bus owner after a video showing a minor driving a passenger bus in DHA went viral on social media.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Authorities in Karachi have taken action after a shocking video surfaced showing a minor driving a passenger bus in the Defence (DHA) area of the city.
Traffic police officials issued a Rs50,000 e-challan to the bus owner, marking the second-largest fine imposed in Karachi. The move came after videos and images of the incident went viral on social media and were widely shared.
According to officials, the child seen driving the bus was around 11 to 12 years old. Once the footage came to light, traffic police did not waste any time and took notice of the violation. Using the images, officials traced the vehicle registration number and issued the hefty fine to the owner.
Traffic police said allowing underage drivers to operate heavy vehicles puts lives at risk and will not be tolerated. They warned that strict action would continue against those who break traffic laws.
Earlier in Karachi, a dumper owner was fined Rs100,000, which remains the highest traffic fine imposed in the city so far.
