SURAT (Dunya News) - More than 900 girls in India’s western city of Surat applied mehndi or henna together at a marriage function.

The move was made in an attempt to create a new world record.

The girls adorned their hands with intricate designs using the reddish-brown dye made from the tropical flowering plant, henna.

Henna art is believed to bring fortune and joy to the bride.
