Summary Donkey foils burglary in Colombia by braying loudly during getaway.

The gang were forced to ditch their robbery attempt after the animal made too much noise and alerted police.

They had stolen rum, oil, rice and cans of fish from a shop in the Colombian town of Juan de Acosta and had planned to use the donkey to carry the goods, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Shop owner Fabio Orozco said: "They can through the roof to rob, they took rum, rice, everything."

The group were forced to leave the stolen items and the donkey, which was detained at the police station for 12 hours until its owner collected it.
