A new survey revealed that more than half of the parents of teenagers say that they are concerned about cyberbullying.85 percent of parents reported that their children had social media accounts and 52 percent parents showed concern about the cyberbullying on social networking sites such as Facebook. Cyberbullying means one teen or group of teens taunting or spreading rumors about a peer online. With the rise in accessibility and popularity of internet among the teenagers this is a highlighting concern. Bullying through physical intimidation has long been a problem among teenagers but cyberbullying by using computers and smart phones to send rumors or post cruel messages has become more prevalent in recent years.The survey also found that one in seven parents have barred their children from using online social media. The survey showed that girls are worst offenders and about two-thirds of cyberbullying occurred among girls, making it twice as common among girls as boys.
