Tsonga wins Qatar Open

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga shrugged off a slow start to down Gael Monfils 7-5, 6-3 in an all-French final at the Qatar Open on Saturday and lift his preparations for the Australian Open.Third seeded Tsonga claimed his eighth career title and a third win in four meetings with Monfils on a day when the final had to be halted early in the first set because of fog and a slippery court.It was difficult. The surface was very slippery especially on the Qatar sign painted on the court, said the 26-year-old Tsonga.It was dangerous but they did enough to make it OK. This is a good win for me going into the Australian Open, its just amazing.
