Summary Shakeel Abbasi to lead 19-member Pakistan team announced today for Australia team.

Chairman selection committee Hanif Khan announced 19-member Pakistan hockey team at the Nasir Bunda Hockey Stadium to participate in the 9-a-side tournament.The selection committee named Shakeel Abbasi as captain in place of Muhammad Imran for the tournament. Ace penalty corner specialist Sohail Abbas, Muhammad Irfan Jr and Muhammad Zubair were also included in the squad. Meanwhile Imran Shah was named as goal-keeper.Talking to Dunya News, Sohail Abbas said that 9-a-side hockey is just like Twenty20 cricket and there are lot of opportunity for the players to score more goals in this format of the game. Newly-selected goal-keeper Imran Shah said that he has trained very hard and vowed to perform well during the tour.Chairman selection committee informed that Shakeel Abbasi was named captain of the Pakistan hockey team for Australian tour only as former skipper Muhammad Imran was suffering from malaria. He said that Imran will tour with the team as a member.
