Japans Ryota Murata stunned reigning champion Abbos Atoev of Uzbekistan at the World Boxing Championships on Saturday with a shock 16-1 win in the first round of the middleweight competition.The 25-year-old Japanese will now face Mohammad Sattarpour of Iran, a 15-9 winner over Moroccos Badreddine Haddioui.Qiang Liu and Jianting Zhang led Chinas charge at the championships to keep alive their countrys hopes in the lightweight and middleweight divisions.Qiang, this years Asian championship silver medallist, outscored Turkeys Fatih Keles 16-10 and next meets Mohamed Eliwa of Egypt, who defeated Dutchman Duljano Westhinger, 18-8.Last years Asian Games bronze medal winner Han Soon-Chul of South Korea also went into the second round beating Ivan Barankchyk of Belarus 19-12 and will next meet Kyrgyz Syimyk Abdyldabek, who overcame Denmarks Rashid Kassem.Uzbekistans Fazliddin Gaibnazarov enjoyed a crushing 31-6 win over Taiwans Yuan Chin Kao.Reigning world lightweight champion Domenico Valentino of Italy demonstrated his top-seeded status by easing into the second round with a confident 15-10 win over Ayrin Ismetov of Bulgaria.The 27-year-old will next face Moroccos Mahdi Ouatine, who outclassed Kendall Ebanks of Cayman Islands 21-5.In the middleweight category, former Asian champion and World Combat Games winner Jianting edged a 14-13 decision over Peter Mullenberg of Netherlands.Beijing Olympics silver medalist Emilio Correa of Cuba had few problems in his opening round bout against Indias Vijender Kumar, winning 16-9.Guangzhou Asian Games bronze medal winners, Irans Mohammad Sattarpour and Danabek Suzhanov of Kazakhstan, also clinched their second round passes, beating Badreddine Haddioui of Morocco 15-9, and Yu Ting Yang of Taiwan respectively.
