Liverpool beats 10-man Everton 2-0 in 216th derby

An Everton defensive mix-up gifted the ball to the Liverpool striker inside the area and he slotted a shot past Howard inside the far post.Liverpool improved to 13 points, level with third-place Chelsea which plays at Bolton on Sunday.Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish returned to Goodison for the first time since the two rivals drew 4-4 in the FA Cup in 1991. Dalglish resigned after that match.
