Summary The 3,981km Silk Way rally started on Sunday in Moscow and it would finish in Sochi on Saturday.
Frenchman Stéphane Peterhansel won the second stage of the Silk Way rally. Peterhansel, who had lost two hours 24 minutes in the first stage, was pleased to win the stage which went from Lipetsk to Volgograd.In the general classification, Peterhansels team-mate Krzysztof took the overall lead after he finished second on the stage.In the truck category, Russian Firdaus Kabirov won the stage to take the overall lead in the general classification. The race was marked by the withdrawal of Kabirovs team-mate Eduard Nikolaev, due to mechanical problems.
