Summary The West Indian Cricket Board once again overlooked former captain and explosive opener Chris Gayle.

The West Indian Cricket Board has announced a 13 man squad for the first Test match against India to be played between 20th and 24th of June at Sabina Park.Darren Sammy is named as the captain and Brendan Nash will act as his deputy. Demands for Chris Gayle’s inclusion were given a deaf ear as the Board went with largely the same team that offered resistance in the 3 – 2 ODI series defeat against the visiting India. Opening batsman Adrian Barath made a comeback to the West Indies Test squad ahead of the opening match.
