Summary Kenyan athletes, Benjamin Kiptoo and Priscah Jeptoo, triumphed in the Paris Marathon.

Kiptoo completed 42.2-kilometre distance in 2 hours, 6 minutes and 31 seconds to claim men’s title. His compatriot, Jeptoo, won the women’s race by completing the distance in 2 hours, 22 minutes and 55 seconds.One minute-silence was observed before the start of the race in the commemoration of the Japanese earthquake victims. The city mayor and Japanese envoy was also present at the starting point of the race. The money generated from the event will be donated to the quake-stricken people of Japan.
