Summary Davis, 22, was suspended for 12 weeks and hit with a "substantial fine".
SYDNEY (AFP) - Former Kangaroos forward Tony Williams was sacked from the Parramatta Eels and his teammate Nathan Davis slapped with a ban after both failed their second drugs test, the club said Tuesday.
The Eels said they had terminated 29-year-old Williams’ contract "effective immediately" after he breached Australia’s National Rugby League policy for "illicit and hazardous drugs".
Davis, 22, was suspended for 12 weeks and hit with a "substantial fine".
"The Parramatta Eels Club will continue to offer welfare assistance and support to Nathan," the Sydney side added.
Williams -- nicknamed "T-Rex" for his size and power, returned to the Eels this season after an injury cut short his stint at the Cronulla Sharks -- has represented Australia and Tonga, and NSW in the State of Origin series.
