Summary India crush West Indies by 80 runs in the last group B match played at Chidambaram Stadium.
India won the toss and elected to bat first, Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that the pitch in Chennai is hard and will favour the spinner. Earlier, India scored 268 runs in 49.1 overs. The first wicket to fall for India was of super batsman, Sachin Tendulkar. After just scoring two runs, Tendulkar was caught behind by the wicket keeper on the sixth ball of the innings by Ravi Rampaul. In the 8th over Rampaul struck again, as he took the wicket of Gautam Gambhir who had scored 22runs. Yuvraj Singh scored 113 runs on 123 balls. West Indies made 188 all out in 43 overs. Devon Smith scored 81runs, Ramnaresh Sarwan made 39.Now India will face Australia in the quarter-finals on Thursday.
