Summary Pakistan prepare to face Zimbabwe in Monday's (March 14) Group, Shahid Afridi has said.
Afridi said that no change would be made in the team and Kamran Akmal would play as wicket keeper.“Pakistan began the tournament with three straight wins, including a narrow win over Sri Lanka, but lost their last match against New Zealand,” he said. Australia remain as the only unbeaten team so far at the 2011 World Cup with early favourites India and Sri Lanka both performing below expectations. Afridi said the World Cup has opened up with more teams feeling they have a chance to land the title. Each and every team now know that no one is favourite now. So, I think everyone is trying to win this competition and whoever performs on the day on the right time-they will win, he said. Everyone is well prepared and I think against Zimbabwe I think we will definitely play with our full strength and against Zimbabwe the game is very important for us, he added.Zimbabwe have not performed well so far with a huge defeat against New Zealand their low point in the campaign. Coach Alan Butcher said their batting needs a lot of improvement if they aspire to surprise Pakistan and keep their qualification hopes alive.
