(Dunya News) – Pakistani girls are proving their sportsmanship in sports which once were considered unfit for them. Now, they are proving their talent by stepping into the European sword game of fencing.
Holding sabre swords and clad in classic white uniform and fencing masks, these young girls in Karachi are stepping into the world of fencing – a classic combat game, which needs precision and timing to face the opponent also holding a sword.
Based on traditional skills of swordsmanship, these girls are determined to represent Pakistan in Olympics someday. However, according to the girls who are practicing fencing, there are few resources for them to enhance their skills in the game.

The weapon used for this game is harmless but it needs special designing and is expensive, which is why most of these are purchased from local manufacturers.
Speaking to Dunya News, one of the fencing players said, “There are three types of fencing: foil, the épée, and the sabre. We here are playing sabre here.”
Muhammad Taqqi, Secretary Sindh Fencing Association said, “I have specially designed all the equipment for the girls locally.”
If these brave girls are given better platforms, they will definitely prove their worth in the world.
