Summary England defeated Holland in the match played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur on Tuesday.

Chasing Holland’s huge target of 293 runs, English captain Strauss played a responsible innings of 88 runs and played an important role in the run-chase. Pieterson who opened the innings made 39 crucial runs to give a good start. Then, Trott’s solid innings of 66 took England to the victory. Afterwards, three thirties of Collingwood, Bell and Bopara made it possible to win the match by 6 wickets.Earlier, Dutch captain Peter Borren won the toss and chose to bat first and set a massive target of 293 runs against England. Netherlands put a huge total due to fantastic century of Doeschate who scored 119 runs. TLW Cooper made 47 runs and TN Grooth scored 28 runs. Dutch captain Borren made 35 runs. On the other hand, English spinner Graeme Swann who made his comeback took 2 wickets and Broad also grabbed 2 wickets. No English bowler could create any hurdles for the Dutch batsmen.The Dutch side tried to repeat the performance of 2009 when the side defeated England in the opening thriller of the T20 World Cup but English team thwarted their dreams. Both teams have met twice in ODIs and the English side remained victorious on both occasions. But this could be the first upset of the World Cup 2011.
