Summary

West Indies 203 in 50 overs Sri Lanka 199-2 in 42.3 overs (U. Tharanga 101 not out) Sri Lanka beat West Indies by eight wickets under the Duckworth/Lewis method in the second one-day international on Thursday. West Indies were bowled out for 203 runs on last ball of the 50th over. Main contributors were Dwayne Bravo (39 from 64), Chris Darren Bravo (39 from 72), Chris Gayle (28 from 30), and Carlton Baugh (28 from 38) as the innings could never get the momentum against a disciplined Sri Lankan bowling. For Sri Lanka, Lasith Malinga captured three wickets for just 30 runs, while Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kulasekara grabbed two wickets each for 27 and 42 runs respectively. Rains reduced the target to 197 runs from 47 overs but Sri Lankan batsmen never found any difficulty in the task. Despite of an early loss of Dilshan (11 from 23) and then the wicket of skipper Kumar Sangakkara (20 from 43), Sri Lanka got to the target with 27 balls to spare. The final match will be played on Sunday.
