Summary Both failed scans on their respective calf and knee complaints.

Australia flanker David Pocock and lock Kane Douglas have been ruled out by injuries from the rugby test against England at Twickenham this Saturday.

Pocock still hasn t played since he injured medial ligaments in the opening match of the Rugby Championship in August.

Douglas hurt his knee in the 33-6 loss to France in Paris last Saturday.

He was encouraged to play by his family after his mother, Trish, was hospitalized in London on Friday after becoming ill on her flight from Australia. She s still in hospital, in a comfortable condition, says the Australian Rugby Union.

Australia s depth of locks will be tested depending on the disciplinary hearing on Wednesday for Rob Simmons, who was cited for a tip tackle on Yannick Nyanga from the defeat at Stade de France.
