Summary Supreme Court ordered to take action against CCPO Faisalabad over negligence in child murder case.

Two-member bench led by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry rejected the pardon application of CCPO’s Faisalabad in 10-year-old boy’s murder case.The CJ commented that the ill-fated family had been confronting with crisis and it was not possible for the court to grant pardon to the officer who committed criminal negligence.“Police officials are interested in their jobs and they have nothing to do with the lives of people who have been condemned to death,” the court observed. The court also said that the MPA should also be asked that why he was interfering in the case.The CJ also asked why the father of the victim was not paid the amount of Diyat. The court ordered to send the copy of court orders to the IG and the Chief Secretary with the direction that the CCPO should be replaced with an honest officer.The issue of additional judge who awarded interim bail of the accused has been ordered to refer to the High Court for further inquiry into the matter. The court said that additional session judge was unaware of the basic principles of granting interim bail.
