DG Khan: Gas leakage injures two people

A powerful blast at an office of a fertilizer company Tuesday critically injured two people including a woman.According to rescue officials the initial findings suggest that the switch of the gas remained on during night between Monday and Tuesday here at building being used by Fauji Fertilizer Corporation.On Tuesday morning when a person switched on the light the spark caused explosion due to the gas leakage. Rescue teams rushed to the site and extinguished the fire.The blast was so powerful that it was heard far and wide and it razed half of the premises down triggering a blaze that engulfed an adjacent private school. The school was evacuated.Also, windowpanes, glass doors of the nearby buildings were broken due to the impact of explosion. Bomb disposal squad and heavy contingent of police also arrived at the spot.
