Summary LHC has ordered case against police employees who set up private torture cells.
The action was taken on the news aired by Dunya News.The petitioner Naveed Ahmad moved an application regarding illegal confinement before Lahore High Court Justice Sardar Tariq Masood. The petitioner said when the Bailiff raided to recover Aman Khan and Naseer Muhammad, he learnt that police had detained the victims in a private torture cell for more than 45 days rather than police station. The bailiff got the victims recovered successfully.DPO Sheikhupura told the court that cases are registered against accused Aman Khan and Naseer Muhammad. At this, the Justice consulted why they have not been brought in the court.The court also commented that establishment of private torture cells is shameful act.The court also ordered the DPO to register cases against the responsible police officers and present medical examination report of the victims within ten days.
