Summary The tragic bus accident in which 37 schoolchildren were killed occurred due to brake failure.

Initial report presented by the Motorway Police on Thursday ruled out overspeeding.According to reports, an Investigation Committee was formed under DIG Motorways Dr Shafiq to probe the Kalar Kahar tragic incident.Spokesman to Motorway Javed Chaudhry rejecting the reports of DPO Chakwal and district administration said that the bus was not overspeeding because the bus covered the distance of 12 kilometer in 35 to 40 minutes and the real cause of the accident was brakes failure.He said that the statements of the injured students have been recorded and they have also stated that the driver of the bus prior to the accident had started shouting that the brakes have failed.Meanwhile, foreign experts have also visited the site and have also cited brake failure as the cause of the accident.The report would be presented before the IG Motorways.
