Summary Secretary Health Punjab has directed completion of drugs procurement by December 31.
Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan issued these directions while presiding over a meeting to review the performance of government hospitals and health centres of district Vehari, in his office on Saturday.Additional Secretaries Health, Director General Health Punjab, EDO Health Vehari and provincial coordinators of different health programmes attended the meeting.The secretary Health further directed that the medical superintendents should take personal interest in motivating the people to get benefit from free treatment facilities being provided in government hospitals instead of going to private hospitals for their treatment.He advised the medical superintendents to work hard for improving the performance of their hospitals.Secretary Health directed the Medical Superintendents to focus on energy management for reducing electricity bills and expenditures occurred on the purchase of fuel for standby generators.He directed that patient friendly atmosphere should be created in all district hospitals. Jehanzeb Khan directed the officers that strict crackdown on the business of substandard and spurious drugs also be carried out and the cases should be properly pursued in drug courts.
