No one from the government or the opposition reach the affected site for rescue activities. Area people continued their struggle to plug the breach in the dyke on their own.According to sources, unknown persons escaped after breaking the Zamindara dyke situated on the Chenab river.As a result, about 100-feet breach developed in the dyke, bringing destruction to thousands of acres of agriculture land. At least 12 to 13 feet water is standing in the lower areas of the city.Apart from this, dozens of houses in Basti Balochan have been damaged in the flood.The local people bitterly criticised the Irrigation Department which did not make any arrangements for the assistance of the affected people.
