Summary Farmers are facing difficulties due to artificial shortage of fertilizer in southern Punjab.
The farmers are facing difficulties to get the fertilizers and they have to buy it in black. The fertilizer is being sold above Rs 2,000 per bag. The shortage of urea is badly affecting sugarcane and cotton crops.The provincial government is not taking any action against hoarders and black marketers as they were busy in making huge profit by selling a urea bag for Rs 2000 against fixed price of Rs 1245.The artificial shortage of urea in the area is hitting crops yield and also causing problems to the farmers.
