Summary The CID police have arrested 7 accused of involved in arms smuggling including a police official.

CID SSP Chaudhry Aslam told the media that all the accused were held from Mari Northern Bypass and the police have recovered a huge quantity of weapons and bullets. The arms were being smuggled in a police van, he added. The accused were Naqeebullah, Asif, Aftab, Kamal, Javed, Imran and Imran. On the tip off accused, police recovered 20,000 bullets, 10 repeater, 10 hand bombs, seven Kalashnikovs, rocket launcher and other sophisticated weapons. The accused have also admitted that they had supplied arms to various criminal gangs and banned organisations.
