Faisalabad: Transporters protest against toll tax

Hundreds of drivers and owners of vehicles took out a rally against toll taxes imposed by the Punjab government on three important roads of the city. They gathered in front of the Commissioner office and observed a sit-in for two hours. All the roads leading to the commissioner office were also closed. The protestors also raised slogans against the administration and the government. They were of the view that the tax imposed by the Punjab government was unbearable burden on them, adding that the DCO Faisalabad had assured to withdraw this tax but it could not be implemented even after one month. The transporters warned to block all the main roads of the city if the government did not withdraw toll tax.
