Citizens are facing difficulties as kiln owners’ strike continues in Multan against the imposition of 16 per cent sales tax on bricks. The strike has also hampered the construction work in the area.At least 4,000 workers, who work on 500 kilns in the city, are facing starvation due to closure of the brick kilns.The kiln owners are of the view that new GST is economic exploitation. Meanwhile, Kiln Owners Union has threatened to carry out their strike unless 16% GST is withdrawn.
