Summary Villagers protested against police and blocked Raiwind Road while several injured in cross firing.
The residents of Jin Jati village at Raiwind alleged that the routes linking the village to other areas have been closed after construction of a housing scheme.The residents of the area blocked Ada Plot-Raiwind Road when police arrested more than a dozen protesters. Firing was also exchanged between the protesters and the police.Several women, children and SHO Raiwind Hafiz Majid including eight police officials were injured in stone-pelting. The situation in the area is tense.According to police, more than 40 protesters have been detained while search operation is underway.
