Summary Fake gazette was unearthed in Multan which incurred millions of loss to national exchequer.
According to details, the fake gazette notification was issued on December 11, 2007 in which map and extra height fee was decreased in commercial area of Sher Shah Town jurisdiction of Multan.The fee was allegedly decreased from Rs 50 per square feet to Rs 2 per square feet. An increase in construction of commercial plazas was witnessed in Sher Shah Town after the notification. At least Rs 275,000 were spent in publication of this gazette to prove it real. The notification was proved fake when new administrator was appointed in April 2011. The district administration has started investigation and sent notices to owners of commercial centres to pay more fee.
