Summary At least 12 employees of NCHD protesting in Islamabad were injured by police baton-charge.
The employees of National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) were protesting at D Chowk against the shifting of the department to the provinces.The protesters tried to move towards the Parliament but Islamabad Police baton-charged and fired teargas shells to stop the demonstrators.At least 12 employees were injured who were shifted to polyclinic for treatment.The employees said that the provinces were not ready to accept the commission due to which 16,000 employees would lose their jobs and educational future of 0.5 million children would be affected.The protesting employees said that the protest would continue till their demands are met.
