Summary Patients in Balochistan, including Quetta, are facing severe problems due to doctors strike.
Young doctors in the province are on strike since April 9, demanding increase in their salaries and security. Thousands of patients are suffering due to the unavailability of doctors and helplessly waiting for the end to strike.The out-patients department and operation theatre are closed in the government hospitals and wards wore a deserted look due to doctors’ absence. The Balochistan government had issued a health ordinance two days ago that banned all employees of the health department from protesting but the doctors continued their strike.
