Breach in Khanpur canal destroys crops

Many villages as well as hundreds of acres of land have been submerged due to a breach in Head Thalewali Canal of Khanpur.The residents of the area are facing a difficult situation. According to police this could be a terrorist’s act.The irrigation department is unable to adopt any clear stance on the situation.The crops have been affected on a large scale as the water devastated hundreds acres of land and the farmers would be badly affected by this.These losses could be avoided if the department concerned had taken timely steps to control the situation.
