The peasants of Dara Seghal claimed that Mureedkay Sadar police illegally raided their houses and tortured women and children and arrested dozens of them. The protesters blocked the GT road, burnt tyres and chanted slogans against the police. They demanded strict action against the police officials involved in the incident and release of their companions. After successful talks with police high officials, they opened the road.
