Nayyar Bukhari likely to be new Senate chairman

The PPP high command has decided to appoint Senator Nayyar Hussain Bukhari as the new Senate chairman after consultation with present chairman Farooq Naik. It was also decided to convince Senator Raza Rabbani to take up leader of the house slot.According to sources, a meeting held at the Awan-e-Sadr under President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss the names for the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Senate.The meeting was attended by Khursheed Shah, Farooq Naik, Raza Rabbani and Islam-ud-Din Sheikh. The president informed Farooq Naik about the decision regarding the nomination of Nayyar Bukhari as Senate chairman. Meanwhile, efforts are on to convince Raza Rabbani to take up leader ho the house slot which will fell vacant after the election of Nayyar Bukhari as Senate chairman.
