However, the decision is not sitting well with the PML-N, as the party has vowed to enter an appeal.Recounting was held in Islamabad for seven general seats of the Senate from Balochistan. The Election Commission of Pakistan, while upholding the decision of Election Commissioner Balochistan Abdul Jabbar Jamali, declared Dawood Khan Achakzai of Awami National Party victorious.The triumphant candidates in Senate polls from Balochistan include Saifullah Magsi, Sardar Fatah Muhammad Hasni and Yousaf Baloch of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Hafiz Hamdullah of theJamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Saeed-ul-Hassan of the Pakistan Muslim League-Qauid-e-Azam and Asrarullah Zahri of the Balochistan National Party-Awami.The results of seven general seats of Senate from Balochistan were withheld on objection from the PML-N over victory of ANP’s Dawood Khan.PML-N MNA Abdul Qadir Baloch, while talking to the media, said that they were not heard in this regard.Why we were called if our point of view was not to be taken, Qadir argued.Earlier, Member Balochistan Assembly Pir Abdul Qadir Gilani announced his support for PPP in Senate elections after release of funds worth Rs 650 millions.Balochistan Assembly Speaker Aslam Bhotani filed a petition in the Balochistan High Court (BHC), seeking suspension of development funds to MPA Abdul Qadir Gilani. The petitioner stated that the MPA was involved in horse-trading during the Senate elections and had pledged his seat to the PPP for Rs 650 million development funds.Moreover, the central secretary general National Party also moved the BHC and argued that record rigging was carried out in the Senate elections and requested the court to declare Senate poll results null and void.The court admitted both the petitions for hearing and issued order to the Balochistan Chief Secretary not to issue development funds to Abdul Qadir Gilani.
