ECP upholds Balochistan Senate result

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected objection of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and upheld the decision of provincial election commissioner regarding seven general seats of Senate inBalochistan.ECP declared Dawood Khan Achakzai of Awami National Party (ANP) successful. After the decision, PPP has won three seats while ANP, PML-Q, JUI-F and BNP-A got one seat each.Earlier, Provincial Election Commissioner Abdul Jabbar Jamali had withheld the results of general seats after the objection of PML-N against Awami National Party’s candidate Dawood Khan. PML-N had accused the opponent of rigging and wrong use of ballot-papers.Election Commission of Balochistan had shifted the complete record to Islamabad. The ECP will announce the results today in Islamabad after recounting of votes.
