Summary A 35-year-old man died of alleged torture by police in Lahore.

According to details, 35-year-old Imran, an employee of Punjab University was arrested by police on motorcycle theft charges and was subjected to severe torture at the police station.Police brought Imran to hospital when his condition deteriorated where he died later.The heirs of deceased staged a protest against police torture on Imran and blocked the Canal Road, resulting in long queues of vehicles on the road which caused hardships for the people.The protesters called off their protest after assurance of action by police against those involved in this incident. Meanwhile, DIG Operation Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has ordered an inquiry of the incident.
