Summary Senate polls are going to be contested on Friday in all the four provinces.

PML-N and PML-Q have joined hands in KP while they oppose each other in Punjab.About 21 candidates from Punjab and Sindh have appeared in the field for 17 seats while polls for 12 seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be managed in Assembly Hall. For four seats of Fata, 11 candidates are contesting.42 candidates from Balochistan have come to contest for 12 seats.On the other hand, 19 candidates for seven general seats, 8 candidates for two seats of technocrats, 9 candidates for two seats of women and five candidates for one seat of minority would appear in political field.In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11 candidates would compete for seven general seats. Shahi Syed, Azam Hoti, Baz Muhammad Khan would represent the ANP while Ahmad Hasan and Siafullah Bangash from the PPP, Muhammad Nisar Khan from the PML-N, Syed Muhammad Qasim Shah from the PML-Q and Talha Mehmood from the JUI would contest.Barrister Muhammad Siaf, Muhammad Ali Khan and Shah Faisal would contest as independent candidates for general seats.For technocrat seats, Ilyas Bilour from the ANP, Iqbal Zafer Jhagra from the PML-N, Farhatullah Babar from the PPP and Maulana Rahat Hussain from the JUI would compete while Barrister Muhammad Saif and Intikhab Chamkani would compete as independent candidate.Amongst women candidates, Robina Khalid from the PPP, Naeema Kishwar from the JUI, Zahida Khan from the ANP would appear in polls while Tahira Bukhari would emerge as independent candidate.ANP’s Amrjeet Malhotra and independent candidate Gulzari Lal Singh would compete on minority seats.Eleven candidates from KP would compete for four seats in the Senate.Hamidullah Jan Afridi, Dr Orangzeb Khan, Sahibzada Abdussalam Shirani, Abdul Malik Qadri, Abdul Waheed Khan, Muhammad Salih Shah, Malik Abdur Rehman, Malik Najamul Hasan, Munir Khan Orakzai, Hayatullah and Hilalurrehman are candidates.In Punjab, there are 8 candidates for seven general seats. The ruling party of Punjab, the PML-N, has introduced four candidates named Sardar Zulfiqar Khan Khosa, M Hamza, Rafiq Rajwana and Zaferullah Dhandla while the PPP have nominated Dr Babar Awan, Aslam Gul and its coalition partner PML-Q candidate Kamil Ali Agha.Sardar Ala Bux Laghari has submitted papers as an independent candidate.In Sindh, Raza Rabbani, Saeed Ghani, Dr Karim Khwaja and Mukhtar Dhamra from the PPP, Tahir Mashhadi, Mustafa Kamal from the MQM, Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah from the PML-F and Ghaffar Qureshi from the PML-Likeminded Group would compete for seven general seats.On two women seats, Mudassar Sehr Kamran from the PPP, Nasreen Jaleel from the MQM and Yasmin Farhakh from the PML-Likeminded would face one another. On minority seats, Harri Ram from the PPP and Phattomal from PML-Likeminded group would face each other.From Balochistan, 42 candidates would contest for 12 seats in the Senate while 19 for seven general seats, 8 candidates for two seats of technocrats, nine for two women seats and five on one seat for minority would race.
